Portgas D. Ace

And now I'm uploading some long overdue art that I did while in Japan and last year during language school when I couldn't allow myself on this site. This first is probably the best. A portrait of Portgas D. Ace for my best friend for her birthday. I don't watch or read One Piece, but it's terribly important to her, so I resolved to show my understanding through an illustration created for spoiler-y reasons that I cannot state here. Just simple portraiture. I like it, though. His abs are wonky, but I'm pretty sure they're wonky in the manga, too. As one blonde dufus pointed out, "Kantrix, your boyfriend will never be this awesome."
