Fanart for Soul Eater. I'll admit I was skeptical of this show when I watched the first couple of episodes. I rather thought it was going to be fairly generic. Don't let those first couple of episodes fool you. Once I got past them I was completely hooked. Enough so that I went and worked on this instead of my contest pieces for Hakubaikou's annual Kenshin contest.
If you're not familiar with the show I'm sure this picture looks a bit bizarre. The two characters are Soul and Maka. Maka's a weapons technician (meister by the show's lingo) and Soul's...well he's a weapon honestly. Here you catch him mid-metamorhposis between his human form and his scythe form, although he had already transformed his arm. And the red things floating about are evil souls.
Moving past the character files, I once again tried a different method of coloring. I wonder if I'll ever settle into any one style? Umm...I think this is my first completely Photoshopped piece ever...though that's probably a lie. I don't honestly remember. Everything was done in the program. Lineart was hand drawn and most of the coloring was by hand as opposed to the pen tool. I think I did pretty well anatomically but the poses aren't the greatest, so I tilted the picture to make it slightly less boring. Not sure how I feel about the background and I may still go back and change it. I think that's about it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
