I've uploaded a few pieces. Not many. I've just got a bit of an artistic itch and it's too hot to crochet, so I started sketching a bit. Biggest thing is the annual contest. Because I will never let go of my redheaded swordsman. Hope this finds you all doing well.

Generally speaking I don't have a problem with porn, but recently I've noticed that every time I look at the most popular deviations on the front page, inevitably there is some racy photo or drawing of a well-endowed woman in lingerie.  Or no lingerie.  And it's not that it's artistic nude.  Most of the women are posed provocatively and are clearly there not as a study of the human body but rather as a object meant to sexually stimulate men and/or lesbians.  And while this sort of art has it's place too, I guess it just disheartens me that it's so popular here when this site has so much more to offer.

Not to mention every time I see one of those pinups I immediately want to draw it with a man in the same pose and clothing just to illustrate how very stupidly ridiculous it looks.

I went to the Rurouni Kenshin live action film opening weekend (you got Avengers about four months before us, so I think it's only fair that Japan gets this first) and wrote a review about it.  If you're at all interested in reading, you can find the review here.

There are some minor spoiler-y type things, but really, I think the story's pretty self-evident if you know the manga at all.

Sorry to have completely and totally disappeared off the radar for so long.  After moving I went through a lot of difficult times, namely losing my grandmother and going through a serious bout of depression.  I've just moved again and I'm hoping that the new environment will allow me to pull myself out of the creative funk I've been in for the last year or so.  I will have an entry for the ClubKenshin contest if it kills me.
